X-ray Diffraction and Bio-SAXS core facility is equipped with top-class instruments for diffraction experiments with single crystal samples focused on the determination of the 3-D structure of (macro) molecules down to atomic resolution and for small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) experiments with isotropically scattering samples focused on determination of the shape and size of macromolecules or nanoparticles. 

Core Facility Cellular Imaging (CELLIM) provides services in the area of light microscopy and offers comprehensive expertize related to sample preparation, image acquisition and data analysis. We also provide access to widefiled and confocal microscopes and individual training of users in operation of microscopes, image acquisition and data analysis.

The laboratory provides modern imaging services, particularly in the area of neuroimaging and human brain mapping, as well as imaging of other parts of human body. MAFIL activities are based on methods such as human MR imaging in a strong magnetic field (including MR spectroscopy) and electrophysiological technique (high-density EEG, simultaneous electrophysiological measurement and MRI). MAFIL expert reports focus mainly on functional and structural brain (head) mapping, because the laboratory was established to serve the needs of neuroscientific research. 

Mass cytometry is a variation of conventional flow cytometry using metal tagged antibodies instead of fluorochromes and detection by time of flight of discrete masses of the metal tags. The lack of any significant mass spectral overlap (no need for compensation) and auto-fluorescence background makes this technology uniquely suited for unravelling high dimensional functional and phenotypic correlations at the single cell level, accelerating biomarker discovery and drug screening.

Core facility supports both, internal and external researchers either in a form of proteomics services or via res. collaborations. Our services are tailored to biomedical applications (analysis of  biofluids, cells lines, tissues ...) and our speciffic focus lies in field of imaging mass spectrometry.  Most of our requests are processed in full service mode, but our MALDI-TOF-TOF analyzer is accessible in self-service mode as well (users with training only). Besides "hands-on" services we offer mass spec counselling and/or results interpretation.
