Core facility: Multimodal and Functional Imaging Laboratory
Category of instrument / technology: Electrophysiological system
Web category: 3 : diagnostic methods
Instrument name: EGI eeg
Description EN:
256 channels MR compatible EEG system from EGI Net Amps 400 series allows acquisition, review, and analysis of 256 electrodes high density EEG. It provides full scalp coverage for the highest spatial resolution data. Very good resolution is also in temporal domain because sampling frequency is 1 kHz. The system also can be used in MR environments and it is compatible with EEG-TMS. Besides EEG there is a possibility of combination with ExG system and then simultaneous measurement of other signals (ECG, EMG, skin conductance, breathing, movement, general bipolar recording). High density sensor nets allow a simple method to apply dense arrays of sensors quickly and easily in just a few minutes. Use with a simple saline solution for shorter recordings, or a gel for long-term recording. The software Surgical tools can suppress various artefacts (e.g. artefacts from MR scanner recorded during simultaneous measurement with functional magnetic resonance imaging), allow data processing and analysis. Data can be also recorded inside the shielded room. For experiments there is an opportunity to take advantage of equipment for visual and acoustic stimulation and E-Prime stimulation software.
Part of research platform:
The laboratory provides modern imaging services, particularly in the area of neuroimaging and human brain mapping, as well as imaging of other parts of human body. MAFIL activities are based on methods such as human MR imaging in a strong magnetic field (including MR spectroscopy) and electrophysiological technique (high-density EEG, simultaneous electrophysiological measurement and MRI). MAFIL expert reports focus mainly on functional and structural brain (head) mapping, because the laboratory was established to serve the needs of neuroscientific research.
