The system for crystal growth allows to accelerate and automate processes of crystal growing and observation. System for crystal growth and observation is required for the automation of the crystallization of macromolecules (proteins and nucleic acids) and observation of the crystallization experiments. The system is able to: 1. prepare complex multicomponent crystallization solutions from stock solutions, 2. set up complete crystallization plate, from reservoir filling to drop setting, 3. incubate crystallization plates at two different constant temperatures (+4oC and +19oC) and inspect them following the user defined schedule, documenting the observation results.

Allows to determine three-dimensional structures of biological macromolecules and small organic molecules if the sample is available in a single crystal form. Radiation: Cu Kα linija, MM-007HF rotating anode generator, VariMax focusing mirrors; detectors: for protein crystallography – Rigaku Raxis-IV++ image plate detector; for organic molecule single crystals – Pilatus 200K directo conversion detector; resolution: for protein crystals – up to 1.2Å; small organic molecule crystals – up to 0.8Å; 2θ angles when using the Pilatus detector – up to 90º (an AFC kapa goniostate is installed); measurement temperature – 90K–292K (Oxford CryoStream cryosystem).
